Interactive Developer Position

Azul 7 is seeking an interactive developer. This person will be responsible for building, testing, and maintaining innovative web and mobile solutions, and will be joining a team of like-minded interactive geeks.

Key responsibilities:
• Produce, modify, and maintain web solutions, using a variety of technologies
• Work with programmers, graphic designers, and content writers in implementing both creative layouts and server-side code to produce technical, interactive, and database-driven web sites
• Provide accurate timing estimates for work based on verbal and written briefs
• Provide technical advice to other team members where appropriate
• Maintain a high awareness of industry issues and trends, particularly in regard to usability and emerging technologies, and keep team members informed as applies for use in future projects
• Disseminate technical knowledge to the rest of the team wherever possible
• Actively contribute to discussions and brainstorming sessions as requested
• Ensure all projects are delivered on-time and to the highest standard of quality
• Attend client meetings if required
• Prioritize and manage workload effectively

Key technical skills:
• Competent in HTML, XHTML, CSS (1 and 2), CSS3, and HTML 5, and appropriate editing tools
• Be able to demonstrate ability to code valid XHTML and CSS
• Developing cross-browser and cross-platform compatible solutions
• Demonstrated ability to convert Photoshop files into “pixel-perfect” HTML blueprints required
• Competent in JavaScript
• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks to create rich interactive content desirable
• Strong working knowledge of JavaScript libraries, such as jQuery. Ajax knowledge is a plus.
• Good understanding of web accessibility and web usability is desirable
• Knowledge of emerging web technologies
• Proficient in PHP and MySQL – experience on the integration of server-side code to produce dynamic web pages is required
• Knowledge of the SQL language
• Knowledge of XML desired, but not required
